Fish with the Stars MND Charity Event

Linear Fisheries is holding its third annual "Fish with the stars" charity event in support of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The event will be held at Linear Fisheries Brasenose One and Two Lakes on the 12th 13th and 14th of August 2013.

Last year’s event and fund raising eventually raised over £22,000 making a grand sum of £40,000 raised in two years. Our brochure has details of the 2012 event written by Tim Paisley on pages 12 and 13.

We already have promises from over thirty of the top carp angling names in the country to take part in this August event. Just some of the names already booked in are Lee Jackson, Bryan Jarrett, Tim Paisley, The O’Connor’s, Iain Macmillan, Chilly, Ian Russell, Adam Penning, Chris Lowe and Angie Lawley.

As a guideline we will be happy with a £300 donation to fish the event. The donation will need to be paid in advance and bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis. Places can be reserved and donations paid at the fishery through the on-site bailiffs, and at Linear’s Open Day being held on the 11th May 2013. In addition to taking part in the event anyone paying the guideline donation of £300 will receive a 48 hour voucher, worth up to £54 to fish Linear's day ticket waters at any time in the next year. The donation will include fishing with a well known angler for the event, food each day in the way of a BBQ/Hog Roast on the Monday and Tuesday evening and a breakfast on the Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. This is not a competition but more a social event – with excellent chances of learning carp fishing techniques from the experts. All proceeds will be going to the MND Association, Milton Keynes branch and to raise even more money for this worthy charity we also plan to have an auction during the event and sell raffle tickets.

We will have entertainment on the Tuesday evening from the popular rock Group OCASAN.

Motor Neurone Disease

Some of you maybe unaware of this dreadful disease that kills at least five people a day in this country and for which, at present, there is no cure. If you wish to learn more about MND, information can be found on the MND Association website.
