**Important Info**
There have been four instances over the last weeks where anglers have been told to leave by our bailiffs before they had started fishing. In all cases these anglers had ignored our notice boards and rules stating 'DO NOT DRIVE ON THE GRASS' and had driven across the grass to their swims. We do not like turning anyone away and our rules are not strict, but the way we see it is that if anglers arrive and blatantly ignore our basic rules and signs from the start then they will be prepared to break other rules - most of our rules are there to make the fishing more enjoyable for our visitors and to protect our fish stocks. PLEASE REMEMBER IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR FISHING AT LINEAR - DO NOT BREAK OUR RULES.
**There will be no news updates next week as I’m off most the week catching up on a bit of fishing - Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. All the news and photos we receive in the mean time will be updated on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th**

WARNING
THEFTS IN THE AREA
There has been a spate of tackle thefts in the area recently and we ask all anglers whether they are on the Linear waters or not to be extra vigilant.
Over the last few years Linear have taken steps to safeguard anglers against theft on their waters with measures that include hiring a security company to patrol at night, and to fence and gate all areas against outsiders entering after dark We have probably gone as far as we can to secure such a large site from outside intrusion and are probably the most secure of the larger fisheries in the UK. Unfortunately we strongly believe that the recent two thefts on the Linear waters were carried out by people fishing close by and already on site. We are sure that most will agree that it is the lowest of the low that carry out this type of theft and this sort of person should not even be classed as an angler.
Linear’s policy is one of zero tolerance where this or any other sort of crime is committed on their waters and we will go to any length to see that the perpetrators, when caught, will feel the full weight of the law and that their names will be publicised for all to see. To this end we have already taken steps to catch those concerned which includes taking on extra bailiffs who will be fishing themselves at night for just this purpose.
We advise all anglers to make sure that their fishing tackle is insured against theft as this is now becoming a nationwide problem. We understand that some anglers on both our own and other waters who have suffered losses were not insured. If you see anything suspicious on the Linear sites please report it to our bailiffs or if at night ring the number of the security company that can be found on notices placed at all our entrances.
Do not allow this very small minority to spoil the sport we love.
