**Upcoming Lake Closures for Matches/Events**

**Upcoming Lake Closures for Matches/Events**

- The whole of Brasenose-Two will be closed from 8am Friday the 5th of Sept for the TVCM Match. The lake will remain closed until early afternoon on Sunday the 7th.

- Swims 12-16 will be closed on Hardwick/Smiths from 8am Friday the 5th of Sept until the afternoon of Sunday the 7th.

- On Monday 22nd Sept tree work will commence on Hunts Corner Lake and Pond. For Health and Safety reasons the whole lake will be closed during this period as we will be working very close the lakes car park. This work, at the latest should be completed by late afternoon on Friday the 26th.

- Swims 25-34 will be closed on Oxlease Lake for filming from 9am Tuesday 16th Sept until the afternoon of Saturday the 20th of August.

- Oxlease Lake will be closed from 9am on Friday the 3rd of October for the UK Carp Angling Masters match; the lake will re-open on the afternoon of Sunday the 5th of October.

- Linear’s first pike match of the season will be held on Hardwick Lake and Smiths Pool on Sunday the 5th of October - The whole lake will be closed to the public whilst the match is on.

- Ten swims will be closed on Brasenose-two from 8am Mon 6th October until PM Tuesday the 7th. (Exact swims are still to be confirmed).

- The whole of Brasenose-Two will be closed for the Richworth Fish-In from 8am Friday 10th of October until the afternoon of Sunday 12th.

- The whole of Oxlease Lake will be closed for the UK Carp Cup Final from 8am Friday the 17th of October until early afternoon on Sunday the 19th of October.

- Linear’s second pike match of the season will be held on Hardwick Lake and Smiths Pool on Sunday the 23rd of November - The whole lake will be closed to the public whilst the match is on.

- Linear’s third pike match of the season will be held on St. Johns Pool on Sunday the 14th of December - The whole lake will be closed to the public whilst the match is on.

Oxlease Lake

Chris Mcnulty landed two very nice mirrors during a recent 48-hour session, the two fish which fell to plastic corn weighed 26lb 09oz and 25lb 02oz.

And David Summerfield landed mirrors of 20.08, 26.02 and 27.08, all David's fish fell to CC Moore live system wafters fished over a bed of hemp, corn and live system free offerings.


Oxlease Lake

Frank Colligan landed a lovely new PB mirror weighing 35lb 05oz using Sonubaits Code-Red boilies. Frank was down on a tutorial with Ian Russell. Ian also got amongst the fish landing five fish including a stunning 39lb 05oz mirror, Code-Red was again the successful bait.


St Johns Pool

Shaun Warrall had a 23lb mirror along with a 29lb catfish using Mainline hybrid boilies in combination with solid bags whilst fishing the social bank.

Paul Westall had a 32lb 04oz mirror fishing to a spodded area.

Dean Bakeley landed the very impressive "Box Common", his new PN weighing 44lb 08oz. Dean used Mainline salty squid boilies topped with pop-up corn.

Chris Lowe and Angie Lawley had a combined catch of thirty fish this week on St. Johns. Angie had fish up to 26lb 04oz with Chris landing a 30lb mirror and 32lb common. They both used Sonubaits Code-Red boilies fished over heavily baited areas of Sonubaits particles, pellets and boilies.

And Jay Russell from Tewkesbury landed a 31lb 10oz mirror.


Unity Lake

Carl Ashwin from Amersham had four to 26lb during a recent weekend session.


Brasenose Two

Dan Downs had a very nice 32lb mirror during a recent trip to the water.

Manor Farm Lake

Manor Farm has continued to fish well of late with David Hamblin from Plymouth landing twenty fish including a mirror known as the "Other Linear" weighing 32lb.

Also on the water was Danny Smith who landed six fish using Trent Bait boilies and tigers. His catch included five twenties up to 27lb 04oz and the "Hardwick Linear" at 31lb 08oz.


Unity Lake

On Unity Lake, Scott Harris landed 14 fish using krill boilies and hemp, his catch was topped by an impressive 27lb common.

And Chris Jennings had a number of fish during his first couple of sessions on the water using Oxford Baits; this included a 17.10 common and 20.01 mirror.


Hunts Corner Lake

David Jenkins had mirrors of 22.05 and 23.11 using Blakes Baits choc-malt boilies. Fishing with him was his eight year old son, Bailey who landed two fish including a new PB 14lb 09oz common.

Another father a son duo on Hunts was dad Terry and Sam aged ten. Terry landed nine fish including a new PB 29lb 06oz mirror with Sam landing mirrors of 17.04 and 21.14. 10mm cell boilies and maggots proved successful for them both.


Brasenose Two

Martyn Welch from Worcestershire had mirrors of 20.12, 21.04 and 23.07 using Blakes Baits shrimp and snail glug and particles.

Alan Powell had a 22lb mirror along with five other fish during a recent 24 hour session.


Oxlease Lake

Chris Lowe had a 31lb mirror using Code-Red boilies along with Sonubaits pellets and particles. This was part of a shared fourteen fish session with Angie Lawley who had fish up to 23lb 10oz using the same bait.

Somerset angler Daz Chelton had a 30.14 mirror using CC Moore live system boilies, with the take coming only minutes after casting out.

Daniel had a 26lb 05oz mirror using Blakes Baits nutmix boilies.


St Johns Pool

Marland Barsby had a 26.02 mirror fishing from Henman Hill.

Manchester angler, Rick Olletenshaw had five fish up to 33lb 12oz during a recent session.

Alex Hallett had thirteen fish up to 33lb 05oz using Urban Baits nutcracker boilies.

And Kev Bridge from St. Helens fished three different waters including St. Johns landing a new PB 31lb mirror.


Brasenose One

Ten year old Bailey Platzer had a new PB 24lb mirror using a pva bag.

Keith Carton had mirror of 14lb and 29lb 12oz using Richworth XLR8 boilies during a quick day session.

Aiden Dunbar had a new PB 20.02 mirror, one of two fish caught using banoffee boilies.

Linear regular, Leon Trusttcott from Stratford upon Avon had a cracking 34lb mirror.

And Mark Williams had fish of 24lb and 25lb 04oz.


General

We are always getting asked about when’s the best time to show up to the fishery. Its hard to say for definite but we always seems to have a shift change of anglers on Sundays, Wednesday and Fridays, with Sunday afternoons arguably being the best time to arrive.

Many anglers seem to think that all lakes are permanently full and you can never get a swim, this is far from the case. We can get exceptionally busy on weekends, especially on bank holidays but even then its very rare that we are completely full, in fact during the last two years we can only remember this happening once (the recent Easter Bank Holiday).

Below are the number of swims on each lake that were free last Saturday.

**Important Info**

We have heard from the local EA Officer that there has been an outbreak of Koi Herpes Virus (KHV) at a relatively close fishery in the Cotswold Water Park, causing quite significant loses.

Can we please remind all anglers that it is good practice to ensure all landing nets, mats, slings etc.... Are left out in the sun to dry, direct sunlight will help kill any parasites or viruses that cold be transferred on wet nets.

This "Good Practice" should be used before travelling between any fisheries in the country.

Thank you to everyone for their support, the raffle was one part of the event and this year a £34,164 cheque was handed to Charlie Reece Chairman of MNDA Milton Keynes branch, £10,000 of the amount is going to Oxford University for research into MND.

The four years of the event has raised a total of in excess of £100,000 for MND Association, of which £30,000 has gone to research.


Manor Farm Lake

Manor Farm Lake has fished very slow during the last month but finaly seems to have woken up again with plenty of fish landed and rumours of one of the 40's know as "Mr Ridiculous" coming out.

Paul Westall had a cracking 23lb 08oz mirror during a recent session.

Robert Burgess had eleven fish ranging in size from 21lb to 26lb 04oz using DNA Baits nutta's boilies and hemp.

And David Hamblin from Plymouth had twenty fish during a six day session, his catch was topped by "The Other Linear" weighing 32lb.


Brasenose One

Shawn Davey had a new PB 32lb 06oz mirror during a session on the water.

And Shaun Smith had four fish up to 21lb 02oz during a recent session using Mainline Fusion boilies over a spodded area at 60 yards range.


St Johns Pool

Jay had a couple of nice fish when he landed carp weighing 28lb 15oz and 23lb.

Mark Bacon from Farnborough had a 43lb catfish using 20mm krill boilies topped with corn fished over krill boilies and pellets.

And Peter had six fish including "Blackeye" weighing 33lb 04oz.


Hardwick Lake & Smiths Pool

Lee Hughes from Hollywood in Birmingham had a very nice 20.12 common using balanced 18mm cell boilies tipped with fake corn.


Brasenose Two

Stephen Rollinson had six fish using krill dumbells topped with spicy squid pop-ups, his catch was topped by a new PB 20lb 12oz mirror.

And Tom Atkins had a new PB 38lb 02oz mirror about ten days ago fishing over a spodded area at 80 yards range.


Oxlease Lake

Dennis Smith had a cracking 35lb mirror during a recent session on the water.

Jais Pukitis had a 30lb mirror using A.M. Boilies.

Matt Went had a lovely 28lb mirror along with a 10lb common using CC Moore Equinox boilies.

And Ben Oakes had a 33lb 10oz mirror.


Guy Lakes

On Yeomans Lake Terry Jonas had nine carp during a 48-hour session including a stunning 26lb 02oz fully scaled mirror and Linear bailiff, Jason Rudge had five fish topped by a stunning surface caught 33lb 08oz common.

Over on Unity Lake, Dale Glover had 18 fish topped by eight 20lb plus fish and the lakes biggest common at 39lb 078oz. Dale used Xcel Baits KSC boilies.

Also on Unity, Steve Taylor from Bicester had a 37lb 14oz ghostie during a 48-hour session and Stan "Jagman" had twelve fish up to 22lb using Mainline New Grange.

Oxlease Lake

Jon Dunbar from Oxfordshire landed five fish up to 28lb using five foot zig rigs.

Simon Robinson recently landed three fish using 13ft zigs, the biggest weighed 27lb 08oz.

Dan Gurney had a 32.12 mirror the biggest of six fish caught using Mainline Baits boilies fished in PVA bags.

Sutton Coldfield angler, Craig Novakovic landed six fish during a recent 24-hours session using Denham Baits, the biggest three weighed 25lb 08oz, 30lb and 33lb 06oz.

Kev Hewitt from Hinders Tackle had five fish up to 28lb 02oz using surface tactics during a day session that also saw him land fish from St. Johns and Hunts Corner.

Charlie Harvey had ten fish using maggot, the biggest being a new PB 33lb 04oz mirror.

Sara Michelle and Luke Carpenter who work for Hinders of Swindon recently enjoyed a very good session, both landing some nice fish with Luke setting a well deserved new PB weighing 32lb 15oz.

John Banks from Vale Royal Angling had four fish up to 27lb 06oz.

And Dave Carter from Witney landed a new PB 29lb 08oz mirror, his first ever zig-rig capture.


Hardwick Lake & Smiths Pool

Dave Saunders recently landed a stunning 36lb scaly mirror and Scott Philips from Haddenham had fish weighing 20lb, 21lb 12oz, 24lb 08oz and 27lb.


St Johns Pool

Local student, Bruno Rodgers had three upper doubles recently along with a lovely 24lb 09oz common.


Brasenose Two

Tim Foulsham landed a new PB 28lb mirror on only his site ever trip to the complex and his first ever session on B-2.

Fishing together, Steve Cliff and Luke Kent landed twenty fish using Mainline cell and hybrid boilies, there catch included mirrors weighing 24.05 and 26lb.

Alan Powell landed a nice 20lb 05oz mirror whilst fishing with his son Nick, who landed a 21.13 mirror; also with them was Alan's grandson, Tom who landed a very nice 16lb 01oz mirror.


Brasenose One

Ben Ward had a new PB 25lb 12oz mirror fishing plastic corn over particles.

Liam Hodges landed thirteen fish up to 23lb during a recent day session using West Country Baits boilies.

Roger Rendell had four fish up to 23.04 during a recent tutorial with Tom Maker using Fox zig aligners, four of Roger's fish were over 20lb.


Guy Lakes

On Yeomans Lake Paul Matheson from Preston had a very nice 27lb 08oz common.

On Gaunts Lake Scott Harris had a 28lb mirror using krill boilies fished over a bed of hemp.

And on Unity Lake Gareth Cook had four fish, including a stunning 28lb ghostie.

St Johns Pool

Chris Lowe finished a great session last week landing ten fish using Sonubaits Code-Red boilies. His catch included a 34.08 cat, 31.10 mirror and the "Big Plated" at 45.12. Fishing with him was Angie who landed 25 fish to 26lb.

Ellen Beedham had a tutorial with Darrell Peck during he first part of her session landing the "Small Plated" at 35lb 10oz. Ellen went on to catch a number of other using Mainline hybrid boilies, topped by a 32.06 mirror and "The Big Common" at 38.12.

Steve Aston from Wolverhampton had six fish during a recent session topped by mirror weighing 20.12 and 26.09.


Brasenose One

During a recent day session Roman Buczynski had thirteen fish up to 26lb whilst surface fishing.

Chris Walker had four fish whilst down on a tutorial wiuth James Anderson, the biggest weighed 25.10.


Brasenose Two

Last week Phil Warwick had five fish up to 27.06 using cell bottom baits.

And the lads from the Infantry Carpers had over 400lb of fish during there recent selection match on the water.

Paul Morgan had four fish to 33.02 whilst fishing with Jimmy Evans who landed eight fish up to 31lb 04oz.

Scott Harris had four fish during a recent overnight session up to 19lb.

Stewart Howell had a 30lb 10oz fully scaled along with a new PB mirror known as "Jenny".

Hunts Corner Lake

Mark Cresswell recently fished peg-two on Hunts Corner Lake, Mark broke his PB three times, landing six fish up to 26lb. Fishing with him was Alex Yates who landing four fish, this included two new PB's topped by a 25lb 08oz mirror.


Hardwick Lake & Smiths Pool

Fishing together Andy Ormrod and Simon landed eighteen fish between them during a recent session topped by a fish weighing 30lb 06oz for Simon.

And Sutton Coldfield angler Craig Novakovic had sixteen fish using Denham Baits red-enzyme boilies, his catch included two lovely commons weighing 28.08 and 29.10.


Brasenose One

Richard Johnson had a cracking 24lb 04oz mirror using a zig rig.

Matt Tomsett had a new PB 26.09 mirror along with six other fish. Matt was fishing with Lewie Hare who also landed seven fish using zigs.

Kev Hewitt from Hinders of Swindon landed eight fish up to 24lb 08oz during a short session.


St Johns Pool

During the past week both the Big and Small Plated have been out along with the Big Common, more details on these fish when we get them.

Phil Brown who was on a tutorial with Chris Lowe landed a very big 48lb catfish.

And Guys member Ben Howarth landed four fish up to 26lb 08oz whilst having a change from the syndicate.


Oxlease Lake

Swansea angler Mike Robb, landed 12 carp during a 48-hour session using corn fished over a heavily baited area.

Chris Morris from the Midlands managed five doubles, eight twenties and a 30lb 10oz mirror fishing over a heavily baited area of Mistral I40 red boilies and rosehip pellets.
