Gaunts Lake is the third in line and is arguably the prettiest of the three waters on the Guys Syndicate. Containing a tree-covered island, this lake of approximately twenty acres is also fringed with reeds and very mature trees.
Last year Gaunts produced three different carp of over 42lbs [two mirrors and a common] and several others that topped thirty - we estimate that there are around 200 carp in the water. During 2009 we had ten different 30 pound plus fish, not including the three forties reported to us.
In the past the carp introduced into this water have grown extremely well and we consider Gaunts the big fish water of the three lakes. In the future we plan to introduce a carefully selected number of scaly mirrors and commons that are currently growing in our rearing waters. The records for this water stand at: mirror carp 43lb, common carp 42.05 and ghostie 29lb.
The Guy Lakes syndicate consists of three lakes - Gaunts, Unity and Yeomans, all of which can be fished on a single syndicate permit. The lakes are very close together on a fairly secure site where vehicle access is restricted by gates that are kept locked to all but the members. The three waters are set in stunning, landscaped surroundings and there are two car parks with fairly easy access to most swims. Toilets are situated at strategic points around the complex.
THE PRICE FOR 2010 IS £400 AND COVERS ALL THREE LAKES FOR A FULL YEAR FROM THE DATE OF JOINING.
There are 10% reduction concessions for husband and wife/girlfriend and adult with a son or daughter under 16 years old.
Linear will accept members under 16 years of age but an adult member must accompany them when fishing. The lakes are for angling members only although members may apply for limited guest tickets. Currently the syndicate is full but places can become available on a month to month basis. There is a waiting list.
Anyone interested in joining and who wish to be considered should either complete and send in the application form contained in our brochure or register online and they will be placed on a waiting list.
THERE IS NO CLOSE SEASON ON ANY OF THE LINEAR DAY TICKET OR SYNDICATE WATERS
