My First Ever Thirty!!!!

32lb 10oz PB !!!!

13 May 2008

I would like to tell you the story of me catching a new PB and very very welcome it was to. It all started on sat 10th May at 10.30am, I made my way over to swim 1 just to have a noise round and on doing so I noticed fish about 7 foot away coming into the edge (Approx 6 or 7 carp) with the biggest of them being about 20lb. so out came the Bankside pellets to try and get them feeding. But the sun was shining bright, no wind, high air pressure and they were spawning. So I would say all the odds where not in my flavor.

Anyway after an hour I did get them feeding they would come in to feed for 1 or 2 mins then go off for about 20 mins then come back me more. So I did know more than set up an 2oz korda inline lead, 12lb korda Hooklink, size 8 korda longshank x hook with a small piece of silicone tube on bend of hook to help turn the hook home. I was able to place the hook on a clear area that the carp had made from feeding and just watched them coming into feed and going off again. This went on for four and a half hours with me standing behind a tree till it all happened mate…….This shadow came in from my right (one that I had not seen feeding) and I watched it take my Mainline Pulse Dumbell bottom bait, at this time my heart I think had stopped! Anyway it shook its head from side to side and made its way to open water. Only ten mins later I had a fantastic looking new PB for my hours of persistence and not giving up for my efforts. It was the Matt Hayes Mirror at 32lb 10oz. I was over the moon; there is something about Manor Farm Lake I love and after that mirror a cant think of another complex I would sooner visit. It was my first ever 30 and what a fish.

Kind Regards
